Alright, so February’s Owl Crate is an interesting one, because I was super into the theme, Magic Unleashed, but I didn’t actually end up being super stoked about any of the items aside from the book. So let’s take a look at what we got!
I have had The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna on my TBR I think since I saw the gorgeous cover, so when I figured out it was going to be the Owl Crate book for February, I was really excited. I keep up with YA, but not as much as romance, so sometimes the books in the box are ones I’ve never heard of (which is fine), but I really love when it’s a book I was planning on reading anyway because then I get a stunning special edition of a book I’m hyped for. (PS I already finished the book and it’s fantastic.)
I was a little meh about this Star Daughter themed hairbrush because I have wavy hair that I don’t brush *shrug*. But these bath salts inspired by We Hunt the Flame from the Soap Librarian smell super good and I am excited to find some time to take a bath an actually use them! #selfcare
Owl Crate announced a while back that they would be doing a series of tins to celebrate the Shades of Magic series. I really loved the series so I was excited to see this first one created by Forensics and Flowers, representing Red London. I don’t have a ton of use for a book tin, but it looks cool!
I am a zipper pouch fiend–seriously, I have way more than I could ever actually use–and I loved Legendborn, so I am into this By Chenelle pouch. I will definitely be putting it to use. And while I am ashamed to admit this, I actually haven’t read Daughter of Smoke and Bone, so this keychain from Lively Ghosts wasn’t a hit with me.
Mostly, I am here for the special edition of Gilded Ones because it’s beautiful and I loved the book. Most of the other items were take it or leave it for me, but I’m never mad about seeing what’s inside my Owl Crate box. March’s theme is Of Witches and Wonder and I’m excited to see what’s included!
