February’s Owl Crate, themed A Power Within, was one I wasn’t super sure about theme wise, but I always open my boxes hopefully. I definitely wouldn’t call this one of my favorite boxes, but there were some useful items within.
The book for this month is All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace. This one looks interesting, and I have to say, this special edition cover is gorgeous. I’ve been a little lukewarm about YA fantasy lately as everything coming out seems to be so similar (and this title sounds like it came from a YA fantasy title generator). But I’m always willing to give new books a shot, and we’ll see how this one turns out.
My favorite item in this month’s box was the Throne of Glass set of playing cards. They are absolutely stunning and I will 100% never allow them to be used in any card game because they are just too pretty. The artwork was designed by Jo Painter, Salome Totladze, Diana Dworak, Jana Runneck, and Michelle Gray. One day when I have time and room on my TBR (haha) I really want to go back and reread this series, and seeing these cards made me realize I need to because I don’t know who half of these characters are. But nevertheless, I love them!
Probably the item that will see the most use from me is the bento box, even though I have no idea what book it ties into (Mistborn?). But I like it and it will be useful! I love bookmarks so I’m a fan of the idea of these best friends bookmarks from Hey Atlas Creative. But I haven’t read Truthwitch and honestly, I’m a sucker for the freebie bookmarks I collect from bookstores. *shrug*
I will definitely be putting this screen/glasses cleaning cloth to use because my glasses are spotty literally all day every day. I love the quote from Wicked Saints and the pretty hand-lettering done by Leaf and Lore. Blooming Library designed this Magicians inspired keychain, but alas, it’s another book I haven’t read.
So while there were a couple of items I will definitely put to use, and one I will lovingly admire from afar and never let anyone touch, there were a couple of things in this box that I didn’t have a connection to. I’m cautiously optimistic for this book, so keep your eyes peeled for a full review coming soon!
