Owl Crate Reveal: December 2020

I don’t know if my feelings about this book led to my overall meh feelings about this month’s Owl Crate or not, but it’s been a while since I had lukewarm feelings about so many of the items, especially since the theme of Love is a Battlefield is right up my alley. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at what was included in the final box of 2020.

Even though I love Laia and Elias from the Ember in the Ashes series, in general, I’m not a big puzzle doer so this 300 piece puzzle designed by Tiara L’Hommedieu was one of the items I liked but didn’t love. I love the image, I’m just probably not ever going to actually do the puzzle.

I will definitely be using this hand cream from Fiction Bath Company, especially since washing my hands a hundred times a day has left them in rough shape. I like the leg warmers designed by @paperbackbones, but seeing as how I live in Southern California, I don’t have a ton of need for them (they are really cute though).

I did really love this ornament from Juniper and Ivy Designs, even though I don’t think I’ve read Wrath and the Dawn (I probably should). At first I had no idea what the wand like item was supposed to be, but then I saw it’s actually a rolling pin and you can use it to leave prints on your cookies! So cute and clever and luckily I had a bunch of (store bought) dough still in my fridge so I can test it out.

This month’s book was These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong. I think I said everything I need to say about it in my full review, but suffice to say, I was disappointed by the book overall. When I figured out it was going to be the OC book after already ordering it from Book of the Month, I was kind of excited to have a pretty, untouched copy of it for my shelf, but alas, I didn’t love it enough to keep it. Such a bummer.

The January box From Olympus with Love is already sold out and hopefully will be on its way soon. I’m excited to see where the theme takes us! If you are interested in any of the items seen here, I’ve started listing some of them on eBay and DePop (I have way too many bookish goodies to hold onto the items I don’t love!). Feel free to check them out and pick some up for yourself!
