Alright. Not going to lie, I haven’t read the majority of the books serving as inspiration for the items in last month’s Owl Crate, but I love the theme Written in the Stars so much that I don’t really care. There were also quite a few office supplies in the box, which is basically my catnip, so even without the connections, I was still overall happy with the August box. Let’s dive in and see what was inside!
I love a good clipboard, and even though I haven’t read Aurora Rising yet, I’ll happily put this Daphne Sebbane design to good use. Team Owl Crate is responsible for the star shaped jar of push pins, and the silver star pen, both of which are already at home on my desk shelves. Low-key planning on signing my book contract (manifesting my destiny!) with the star pen because it’s just too perfect.
I also haven’t read Strange the Dreamer (shame on me), which inspired this bandana from Fern and Ink. But it’s so pretty, I will definitely be rocking it. I’m thinking it would be super cute tied around a ponytail, but I’ll probably mostly use it as a background for book pics because that’s how I roll.
I hadn’t heard of this month’s book, Star Daughter by Shveta Thakrar, but it looks like it’s going to be interesting. And this Quirky Cup Collective book sleeve is perfect for carrying it around, were I actually, you know, going places! All (sad) joking aside, I love book sleeves and use them often so I’m always happy to add another to my collection.
Overall, I was super pleased with August’s Owl Crate and I’m looking forward to diving into Star Daughter! I’m actually skipping the September box because it’s horror-themed, which is just not for me, but if you like spooky stuff, you should definitely check it out! So that means I will be back in a couple of months with my next reveal! If you’re interested in exploring Owl Crate for yourself, please make sure to use one of my affiliate links. Happy reading!
