August was a hell of a month, but even in the midst of distance learning and a root canal and the general *waves hands around* of the world, I still managed to read nineteen books. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. I also had quite a few 4.5 and 5 star reads this month, so overall, lots of good recs for you. Here’s a quick summary of all I read in August:

Loathe at First Sight by Suzanne Park: I love Suzanne and I loved this book! Full review here.

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett: Absolutely, remarkably, unequivocally brilliant.

Paradise Cove by Jenny Holiday: Jenny is always a yes for me, and I loved this book, but please check my full review for some big content warnings if you need them.

Devil of Downtown by Joanna Shupe: I was sad to see this series come to an end, but I’m excited to see what Joanna does next! Full review here.

In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk: Lindsey’s millennial humor is always spot on and this one definitely made me LOL. Full review here.

Imperfectly Happy by Sharina Harris: I had mixed feelings about this one, and it’s another with lots of content warnings. Full review here.

Midnight Sun by Stephenie Meyer: This book did not need to exist. Full review here.

Something to Talk About by Meryl Wilsner: I didn’t love this one from the jump, but it won me over by the end. Full review here.

Beginner’s Luck by Kate Clayborn: Kate is a genius and I love her so much I hate her a little because she’s just too good.

The Roommate by Rosie Danan: I will shout this book’s brilliance from the rooftop until the end of time! Full gushing review here.

Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson: Probably the most impactful of the anti-racist reads I have read so far, have a lot of tissues handy. Full review here.

Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLean: I didn’t love this one as much as the first two, but Sarah is a genius and a must read.

Ride Wild by Laura Kaye: This is not the kind of book I would normally go for, but I found it surprisingly enjoyable.

Here to Stay by Adriana Herrera: It’s hard to balance sweet and hot, but Adriana nails it in this one. Full review here.

Goddess in the Machine by Lora Beth Johnson: An interesting read, but not one I would rush out and buy the sequel to.

Recipe for Persuasion by Sonali Dev: I wish this one had focused a little more on the romance, but the characters were great and it made me super hungry.

You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson: A lot of the time, books don’t live up to the hype, but this one definitely did. Full review here.

A Touch of Stone and Snow by Milla Vane: I didn’t like this one as much as I loved the first, but it was still a good read. Full review here.

Accidentally in Love by Belinda Missen: This was a cute, sweet women’s fiction/romance, just an all-around fun read. Full review here.

Lots of good options for you to choose from on this list so hopefully you found your next read!
