Monthly Wrap Up: March 2021

Hi friends! As I start to migrate more of my lifestyle blog stuff over to this blog, you might see some different posts popping up. I still want to focus mostly on bookish content here, but since this is also now my personal website, I want to share some of the other things in my life too! Of course, my life right now consists mostly of staying home and trying not to lose my mind during distance learning, but hopefully that is going to start to change soon! This post serves as my kind of monthly overview. I love doing these because it lets me look back at all the awesome things I accomplished in any given month, and hopefully you like them too!

Reading: I read seventeen books in March, and honestly, the majority of them were really good! I’ll have all the highlights coming up soon in my monthly favorites post, but some of the standouts were Love at First by Kate Clayborn, Hot British Boyfriend by Kristy Boyce, Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany by Lori Nelson Spielman, and The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna.

Writing: My main goal in March was to finish my first ever round of revisions for my actual, real life, professional editor, and I did it! Not going to lie, when I originally heard I was only going to have three weeks to revise for the first time, I had a low-key panic moment, but luckily Pitch Wars taught me how to make a schedule and stick to it and I was really grateful I already had that experience under my belt. I finished up the edits on time (I actually sent them in a day early because I am an overachiever at heart) and I’m excited/nervous/terrified to see what comes next!

Movies and TV: So obviously the majority of the month of March was me being obsessed with WandaVision. I’ve watched the entire series multiple times at this point, and I just freaking loved everything about it so much. And then to top off all of that, we also got the first episodes of Falcon and Winter Soldier in March, which I am loving to the extreme (Sebastian Stan may or may not be the hero inspiration for my next book). When I could tear myself away from Marvel (not a thing that happens often), I was watching lots of old episodes of Married at First Sight, and I also really loved Moxie on Netflix. But mostly, I am super excited because my local movie theater reopened and as soon as I am two weeks post shot two, I am going to see a movie in the theater and I will probably cry. Can’t wait!

Life Stuff: Honestly, not too much changed in the life department during the month of March (though Matt and I were both able to get our first shots, which is amazing). But April looks like it is going to be a big one! My kiddo is set to go back to school two days a week for in person learning, which I am both looking forward to and terrified of. And with the reopening of Disneyland, hopefully life is going to be getting back to some semblance of normal. I’ve also started booking some weddings and have a couple coming up that I’m super excited for. It feels good to be getting back to some (safe, masked, socially distanced) kind of normal!

Cheers to a fantastic month to come!
