Fave Reads of the Month: August 2021

I’m just now looking back at my reading log for the month and honestly, this is kind of a tricky month to compile this list. I read a lot of books in August, and a lot of them are 4 star reads. Usually I include four stars in my faves because for me, four stars means I really liked it. But if I included them this month, this list would be basically every book I read in August and nobody got time for that. So for the purposes of this month, these are all 4.5 and 5 star books which means you should probably just buy all of them now!

No Words by Meg Cabot: I just really love reading books about the book world, so a romance with two authors as the main characters was pretty much a surefire win for me. You can read my full review here.

Very Sincerely Yours by Kerry Winfrey: This book took me a little while to get into, but it is chock full of the most charming characters and once the love story got going, I was totally sold. You can read my full review here.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid: TikTok convinced me to buy this book and TikTok was right. This was probably one of the best books I’ve ever read.

The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris: This book did not go at all where I was expecting it to and I love a book that surprises me and catches me off guard.

Take Me Home Tonight by Morgan Matson: I love Morgan’s voice and I love New York City so this was a perfect match for me.

The Road to Rose Bend by Naima Simone: If you love a Hallmark movie but wish it were steamy, this book is for you!

The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun: I was completely blown away by this book. I cannot rave about it enough. You can read my full review here.

Isn’t It Bromantic? by Lyssa Kay Adams: I loved the first book in this series, but was lukewarm about the other two because they both dealt with sexual assault and that was rough for me personally. Happy to say, I think this one might be my favorite in the series!

Love Your Life by Sophie Kinsella: Look, I want to be Sophie one day. I love most of her books. I struggled with the hero a bit in this one, but overall, I really enjoyed it.

August was a really, really good month for reading overall–it says a lot when I have too many high-rated books to include on the list! Hopefully September is just as good!
